    The philosophy of The Montessori Garden, Inc. is to provide a learning space that makes the children feel like they are at home and to follow the philosophical beliefs and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. Dr. Montessori believed that every child is born with endless possibilities and potential, and it is the teacher’s job to observe how children develop and learn when they are allowed to move at their own pace and in their own way. We will not ask the child to perform tasks they are not ready for, but we will be constantly observant of when they need more. Through observation and guidance from teachers, children progress on a journey to develop independent thinking, curiosity, and positive self-discipline. In teaching children specific skills, we do not seek to impart knowledge alone but to instill the lifelong habit of learning, questioning, and relating to others. All this leads to the development of the whole person. ​

    About the director:

    Maria Langone has over 30 years of experience teaching with the Montessori method. Following in the vision of Maria Montessori, our director founded The Montessori Garden in 2004 to inspire, encourage, and nurture young children. She works with her teachers and staff to ensure an environment that each individual child will love and thrive in.
